Owner / Designer

Wil Kirwan founded 3 Grackles Design while working in tech in Austin in 2018 when he bought his first CNC machine. He fell in love with the hobby of woodworking, and decided to take a chance sharing his passion and creativity with the world.

Wil grew up in a military family, and called Charleston, SC home for most of his formative years. He attended the Clemson University where he was president of Central Spirit and studied computer science and economics. After graduating, he worked in tech as a software developer and product manager, helping them grow to multiple billion-dollar valuations. 

Wil has studied woodworking, design, and fabrication since first picking up the hobby in 2014, when he built his first set of patio furniture. Wil also creates educational content for woodworkers in his free time, helping them improve their businesses.
